The city of Parnaíba is located in the northern region of Piaui and is approximately 360 km from Teresina capital. It is a city of warm weather that has a breeze blowing the whole year. The streets are wide and tree-lined and colonial mansions of the eighteenth century take us back to the past and are graceful monuments from the epoch of the antique Vila de São João from Parnaíba.
The highest historical value mansion is known as Casa Grande de Parnaíba and belonged to the founder of the city, Simplício Dias. The city is also the doorway to the Delta do Parnaíba, the only in the open sea of the Americas, consisting of exotic lagoons, sand dunes, islands, and islets.
